MISTY DEW

Why would you think that a mare would go straight into a land that she could tell was already ruled by an equine? An not just go into the mountain range for a stallion to come to her. You could say that Misty was not a mare that was going to stand around and wait for someone to come to her. She rather go to them. With her eyes looking all around with thorns perked upon her skull. Wondering just what this equine might do when he finds that she is her. Shifting the weight under her daggers as she walked across the plateau. 

Eyes catching the perked sight for her to stand and wait for this equine. "This looks like a good spot." She said while looking all around this equine with thorns flickering around while she tried to caught the sound of any equine to come into her direction. Taking in a deep breath of air as she prepared her figure to rear right up. AN when she could do such a thing. She leaned back and shot her figure up into the air. Allowing a loud nicker to ring into the air. Feeling her feather's flying up as she came up and then falling upon her pillars while she fell to the ground. Waiting for the sight of another equine to come into her direction and yet no one was coming yet.

Marauder woke up and stretched out before deciding on taking a short patrol just to make sure no stallion decided to do a hit and run raid and steal either Fox or Zilla. Where his two mares was now he had no idea except they have not left that much was for sure. Mardy just decided to let both mares have some time to themselves before even thinking of making an appearance. He was making his way towards the waterfall and valley. He didn't smell or seen Fox, that is when he raised his head and sniffed the wind, and a total stranger scent was being carried by it. Oh he was now sort of curious just who was so stupid in even thinking of entering his territory. He decided he needed to track this other horse down and to just see who they was.

Marauder headed in what he hoped to be the right way towards this other horse. He then heard a loud nicker and it was close by. Maruder stopped briefly and sniffed again he still had no idea if this other equine was stallion or mare. If it was a fellow stallion he would only give him two options run or fight. But if it was a mare he would ask why she was there and then decide if he wanted her added to his harem. He went slowly so as not to surprise and cause panic to set in. If this other horse heard big foot falls they might try and flee, and the massive sorrel roan stallion didn't want that if he could help it. He then got one good whiff and there was none of the musky foul odor of a stallion, a smile lite up on his face, this was a mare. He then finally came forward and in a low voice spoke.

" Calling out like you did can get you in trouble, as it can get you either killed or attacked by the owner of these lands. My name is Marauder and so I got to ask why have you decided to trespass on my territory mare."

Marauder was tense as he had no idea just why this mare was even here. He also was thinking this was some trap set up by another stallion to make Mardy drop his guard and so be an easier target. He pawed the ground with his left front hoof waiting for this mare to answer him.

MISTY DEW

Eyes scanned the land with thorns perked high upon her crown. Trying to see just when the lead stallion was going to show up and of course it seemed like forever. Then the sound of a voice drifted into her thorns. Taking her head and slowly turning to look at the stag that was standing nearby. Listening and processing the words he had sent into her direction. Snorting slightly as his words as she allowed her daggers to move her back slowly with thorns falling back and her head even falling slightly as she watched the stallion carefully.

"I...I was just calling out. I was looking for a home. Not to be encountered by a rude lead. I'll take my business else where."

Her voice was shaky and not all happy like it had been before. Her eyes looking over the stag while she slowly began to back away from the stallion. Seeing the sight of him pawing at the ground in almost a threatening way. All she wanted was happiness and a good place to live at with a kind lead, but as she looked over the stag she could see an unkind lead stallion. Taking her banner and tightening it against her rump as she moved. Seeing she was a good five horse lengths from this stag now and wanted more space between them. She did not even give him her name for how he was acting.


Thinking through her mind, she knew she could have been a rude mare. Walk all through his lands and destroy everything he owned, but she was here for a home in which he was slowly starting to mess up already. She didn't want to come here to live in a concentration camp setting, but in a happy one where she could roam around on this snowy terrain with a smile upon her face and a nice conversation with another equine for a change.

Marauder was really not out to scare this mare, he just wanted it to be known that this land was already occupied by him and his mares. But he seen how this mare was sort of stammering around and not out to confront him. This was a big relief as he was not wanting a confrontation at the moment. He had more than his fill with Zilla and her little fits she has been sending his way ever since they met up again. In fact he was wishing that he had never ran across the draft mare. That is when it hit him that this mare could be a very valuable asset to have on his lands.

He sort of frowned when she seemed to apologized about bering here, he was quick to act though. He trotted to cut her off and so prevent her from escaping. He then in a soft voice spoke to this mare.

" I only wanted to make sure you knew that I was around, was all my dear. And that you are trespassing and that it might require you to pay the toll. And do you have a name or am I to just give you one mare?"

Marauder then roved over the smaller framed mare and liked what he seen. The Belgian then allowed to check off all the boxes on what this mare could full fill. So far she was young, healthy, and that all important catagory being of foal bearing age. With the fireworks that had happen between Zilla, Fox, and himself he had missed his chance with Fox during the fall, but he would not miss his chance when spring came a knocking. Now he hoped this young mare would ask what the cost of the toll would be and he would then let her know, that it would probably be three foals. He could already see this mare nice and round when summer was here. He was now eager to get the pleasantries out of the way and then down to business.

MISTY DEW

Misty watched the bronco carefully as she took in a breath of the winter air. She did not want to be around this stallion now. Thinking that she would come to this land and call to him that she was here would be the best thing she could do and yet he was rude about it. She still could have been that asshole that goes and walks around and not call for anyone. Though she did not do that. She was carrying herself forwards with thorns perked high upon her head while she watched him carefully. Snorting as the snow seemed to try and come up her nares while she watched him with close eyes and her thorns taking in his words. 

"Well how you said it was a bit rude. I had called over the land to let you know that I was here. I could have really been trespassing by not even saying a word while coming into these lands. I just wanted to see who was out there when I called and to let you know I was here." She said as she backed from the stag with her thorns back slightly. "I'm Misty Dew, but I go by Misty for short. I don't go by my gender's name." She said with a snort from her nares. Not even asking about the toll thing. She really did not care for what he wished for. He was a brat of a stallion and she wanted nothing to even do with him. Shifting the weight her daggers held as she backed up slowly from him. Halting when she was a good four horse lengths from the stag.

Marauder was just out making sure that no threats was about to show up at his door or towards his mare's. So he then stopped being a jerk and so just stand by and listen to what she had to say. Seemed that she didn't like how Marauder came up and proceeded to put her in her place. She said that he shouldn't have been rude when he first confronted her, and then she said all she wanted was to just find out who was here and how many horses called this place home. Marauder then decided that he should at least apologize and to start over before this lovely big boned draft mare picked up and moved out. Mardy always had an eye out for any mare that could add to the future and health of his herd, and Misty fit that discription to a T. He then spoke in a more friendly tone.

" I'm sorry Misty as I really had no right in doing what I did to you. If you want to come live with me than you are more than welcome my dear. If you want to come along and tag after me I could so love the company. Again I meant you no harm or malice Misty."

He then started to turn around and to start towards his cave, if she was still here in a few hours that would be great, but if not then oh well he would just have to wait or go look for the next mare to cross his path. He looked one last time over his right shoulder to see if this mare was going to take his offer or to leave. The Belgian did know it was early spring and so breeding season was just starting up, he needed to get space or he was going to loose all self control by being near any mare at this time. He now swiped the slate clean and wanted to start over, would Misty feel the same was the question running through his massive head.

MISTY DEW

Misty was unsure about the stallion's actions. Flickering her banner side to side upon her haunches while she looked him over. Taking in a deep breath of air for a moment while she watched carefully. Yet to see any sign of him wishing to attack her while she stood there and looked upon her figure. Moving her thorns all around upon her head as she thought to herself aobut this stallion and then she allowed to take in the words of the stag as he spoke into her direction. Sucking in a deep breath of air as she took in the words that the stag was saying towards her. An then watching while his figure had turned and moved away from her after he had finished his terms.

She was a bit confused by this action. He had said his words and left. Yes, he had offered her to come with him, but this felt like a trick to her. Though she had nothing to hold her back. This was the first equine she had met and yet she felt like she might just take the chance and walk with him. So she shifted her weight within her body and started after him. Trotting forwards and halting in front of him as she looked at him with a confused look upon her face as she looked at him to get him to halt.

"Why do you walk away? You are an odd stallion I do say." She said as she stood in front of him with her banner flickering side to side. Not realizing just what time of the year it was and just why this stag is acting this way. She was a young heart that did not know these things or even the feeling of really holding a foal by her side for a long time. Yes, she had had one and knew the feeling of everything, but it was stripped from her grasp. Sighing as she looked down to the ground below with a saddened look as she shook her skull side to side. "I'm sorry, I. . ." Her sentence trailed off as she turned and ran away to a calm body of water and looked at the water below. She did not want to cry in front of the stag or even have thoughts of the past and she did. So here she was. Crying slowly into the water below. Knowing the stag would keep going and she would stand there for a while and move on like they all did to her.

Marauder was trying to lead this mare deeper into his lands so as to prevent her from slipping away. He was not really worried about such a thing, but he was putting an insurance policy in place just in case. He looked behind him and seen that Misty had in fact took his offer and so started to follow him. He then swiveled an ear towards her when she started to talk. Misty told him he was an odd stallion on how he walked away from her. If she even knew why he done it she would of put distance between themselves. It was the start of spring and so breeding season was just starting up. Mardy this time around though was going to try for a few foals, he always liked spring to breed and so give the foals the summer and fall to fatten up and be able to tackle the cold of winter better. He then heard Misty say something but he didn't hear it clearly.

He then noticed that the mare was not by his side anymore, he quickly looked around until he seen that she had went over to the side of a pond. He just stood there for a minute wondering if something was wrong or was Misty hurt in some way. After waiting for a minute he then slowly walked up until he was beside the large Gypsy Vanner. Then in a low soft voice spoke.

" Is everything alright? You are not hurt are you? You do realize that it is real early spring and that means it is breeding season. That was the main reason I was trying to put distance between us, as I didn't want to lose my head by being near a mare at this time of year."

Why did the large sorrel roan stallion say such a thing. Marauder was just being honest for once in his life. He also wanted Misty to know it was not anything she did that made him start walking without her originally. But he was now going to be beside the mare until she was ready to leave here.

MISTY

Misty had thought about her child and the love of her life when she had started to speak to mardy more and more. She did not like the fact that her mind took her backwards instead of forwards. It put her in a mood that she wished to not be in. Sighing as she looked down to the ground and started to hear the sound of daggers coming over towards her, but she did not turn her head. She took whatever was coming towards her and hearing the sound of Mardy's voice slowly started to tense her figure just ever so slightly. With her thorns moving back to take in just what he had to say towards her. Hearing the sound of his voice as he had asked if she was alright and asked if she was not hurt. Then he started to talk about breeding season and just why he was so distant between the two of them. All she could do was sigh and close her eyes slowly.

"I know what time of the year it is Mardy. The sight of foals will be coming soon after this. Just my past still haunts me I am guessing. To take the time to love, have a child and then that all wiped from you by the sights of the evil that lingers in some equines around here. That is what I'm going through Mardy." She paused and turned her head and looked over to the stallion. Sadness was upon her face as she looked over the stag. "You do look like one that has lost something, but I am not wanting to ask. All I want is that happiness I had before back. Though that is just a scary thought. To get it back and then think that it might be stripped from you again. That is the only reason I just don't even want to be standing here or even in a herd." She was honest with her words as she spoke to him. It was like she was a whole other mare. Happiness going from her and only sadness mixed with depression coming in.

All she wanted was happiness and yet could not find it. She even came straight to a herd land to seek it out and yet. . .she was spoken to like she was going to destroy the place. Sighing as she looked over the water with thorns perked and her body trying to relax itself. "If you are wanting me to rephrase what I have spoken then I will say this. I have had a love one once. He was my happiness and joy that I always had wanted. We both had a beautiful child until one day that all changed. We were attacked by a group of darks. I was left alive to pass on the word, but my beautiful foal and my wonderful stallion. . .dead. . .Now here I am, wandering around wanting to know if I was dreaming or if that is really happening. Oh well, I'm just a broken mare. I know you'll be like the rest and not want me around." She said with a sigh as she looked at him for a moment and then looked at the terrain. "I guess I'll be on my way." Words were simple as she backed up slowly from the stags space. Placing a bit of distance between the two of them as she slowly walked over to the borders with her head lowering slowly.

Marauder just wanted space so as to keep a clear head around this mare, the last thing he wanted was to jump the poor dear. He was slightly shocked when the mare started to open up and talk about her past. Misty went on and spoke about having foals, and then having them taken from her all the large Belgian stallion could do was stand and just listen to what the mare was saying. Misty finally finished by saying that she didn't think he would want her around, and that she would now be leaving. This last part sort of angered Marauder as he really did want this mare and could use her for getting what he hoped would be a strong future heir to these lands. He then trotted around and so cut Misty's escape path before speaking to the pretty draft built mare.

" Misty I very much want you to stay, as if I didn't want you here I would of just chased you away instead of stopping and talking to you. Now I want you as a member for my herd and so would love to have you."


He then took one step backwards and so waited for Misty to respond, but if she did try and run then he would have to chase her down and so prevent her from getting away. He missed out during the fall breeding season with the blow up that was the Zilla and Fox fight. But he was now bound and determined to finally get his herd and family started and Misty was what he hoped would be the start to all of it. He just wished that this mare would not do nothing rash and accept his offer without much resistance.

MISTY

Misty sure did not believe what she was hearing as she started to the border of this brutes land. The sound of hooves heading into her direction. Though she did not look to see if they were true or not. That was until, the sight of Mardy's figure was in front of her. Causing her to halt as she looked over towards him with thorns perked upon his head and words flowing from his muzzle as he spoke to her. Saying, 'Misty, I very much want you to stay, as if I didn't want you here. I would of just chased you away instead of stopping and talking to you. Now I want you as a member for my herd and so would love to have you.' She thought she was dreaming when she heard those words. This bronco really wanted her to stay her and enjoy the herd life no matter what things she has been through.

Her eyes watching him for a moment while he took a step back as she had to let everything process. Knowing that this stag probably was thinking that she would run with just how she was acting, but she had never had those words really thrown into her direction like how he spoke towards her. Looking to the ground for a moment as she felt a tear run from her face, but not in a sad way. A bit of a happy way if you would think of it that way. Than she allowed her eyes to slowly look up towards the stag with a smile upon her face as she looked at him. "Do you really mean this? I . . .I . . . I just figured you would be like the rest and not accept me for that fact. I truly just want to have my happiness again, but I'm just scared to have children and them be ripped from me again." She said softly as she looked around for a second and then allowed her eyes to look back up to the stag again.

She had seemed to be frozen with excitement, but she took in a deep breath and looked down for a moment before looking up at Mardy. Her figure charging towards him quickly before she could take her face and bury it into his ribbons with a soft smile. Rubbing her face all over his neck as she stood close to him with thorns perked and a smile upon her face. She could not even speak right now she was so excited. She was pretty much accepting his offer and just overwhelmed to even say that she was accepting it. Allowing her muzzle to nip at his withers teasingly before backing up and bumping her muzzle against his own. Backing up with a smile as she turned and actually pranced more into his lands. Her dappled palomino pelt shimmering in the sun's rays as she turned and looked back to the stag with a smile upon her face. Banner flipping up and over her back side as she pranced and quickly turned towards the stag. Rearing up with excitement before landing back down upon the ground and looking towards the stag. Wondering just what things he might try and even do next. Maybe even try and play with her for a moment. Not even thinking of what time of the year it was right now. She was just happy to have a herd spot again in her life.
