Name: Kaela
Age: 2-year-old
Breed: Dutch Warmblood
Color: Bay
Height: 16hh (once fully grown)
Gender: Mare
Alliance: Light
Personality: Kaela is a sweet-natured mare. Doesn’t like confrontation and hates to be alone. She is wary of strangers at first but always tries to be friends with everyone. Once she gets to know you she is very loyal and will do just about anything to please, her need for acceptance and praise is a weakness of hers and is attributed to her insecurity – she doesn’t believe she someone to be liked. She has a willingness and a heart of gold which is her most notable quality.
History: Kaela was born to an ordinary mare in a herd of 20 horses. Kaela was just part of a large and successful breeding season and lived her early months as any normal foal. Kaela was was weaned young when her mother was swept away during a flash flood washed through her herds meadow.
Kaela was the only orphan that season and no mare was willing to share milk with her as the lead set a grueling pace during migration and if the foals didn’t keep up they were left behind. Kaela felt isolated and tried everything she could to be noticed and receive some affection. She strove to show that she was a valued member of her herd and tried her hardest to earn acceptance from everyone since her mother was not around. Praise was like a drug to her and like an addict she did everything she could to get it more and more. Simply being, in her mind, a perfect herd member.
Little more than a month ago, she was separated from her herd when they were attacked by mountain lions. Trying to find a safe place to live she followed the scents of horses and found herself here.
