The small blood bay Morgan was out here just because of the other mares she followed ended up stopping here. She was new around here and it showed as her coat shined in the mid day sun. Aquilon liked the sun and the warmth it provided, as she knew winter was just around the corner and it's cold and snow, not to mention the ever present scrounging for enough to eat in the cold months. Now though it was summer and so there was more than enough grass and foliage to go around. Aquilon was not going to go through another winter where she was starving half the time. She started to lightly graze but keep an ever leary eye or ear towards where she thought a threat could appear. You never knew when something or someone showed up to either want to make a meal out of you or to hurt you. Aquilon only knew that a lot of mares was around the only males seem to be a few yearlings or foals to a few of the other mares. It seemed she was either around a band of mares or that stallions was either rare or not allowed around here.
How she was wrong on both counts, she walked a little ways still nibbling and trying her best to fill her stomach. Aquilon was not really paying attention around her and so slowly started to concentrate more and more on feeding instead of her surroundings. That was not a real wise choice as her shiny red based pelt was a real eye catcher. She then picked up her head to look around one last time before slowly meandering over to a pond to get a quick drink before looking for a place to snooze before nightfall. The 15.2 hh Morgan mare would then probably leave to go to the next stop over, she would probably do this until either dead or a stallion cornered her, she has been lucky so far in avoiding them. In fact Aquilon still viewed herself as a filly and so to young to garner much attention by them. Little did she know she was in the claiming grounds and so fair game. The blood bay mare continued grazing by herself.
