i am. . . . . . . . . . the queen of monsters         Her body laid next to her children. A soft sigh coming form her muzzle as she looked at them. She did not know what had happened at this point. Feeling as if it was all a dream for her to see her children like this. Shifting as she wrapped her neck around her little children. Her heart was broken and did not know what she was going to do with herself now. She almost did not want to live at this point in time. These were her children and the only ones she had and they were her boys. Though she kind of dreaded seeing her love at this point in time. Knowing he would probably not even love her anymore after this. She had given him children and she lost them both at the same time. The thought of it made the tears come falling down more as she looked at the two of them. Then she knew she had to get moving at this point and was not even thinking about what was going to happen to her children now. For she knew what the scavengers were going to do but she did not want to even think about such a thing. So she took in a deep breath of air and she kissed her children with a soft but shakey smile upon her muzzle. "I love you my children. I will see you later." Her words were soft as she looked down towards her little ones one more time. Not even daring to say good bye to her little ones for than things would even hit her worse. So she took in a deep breath of air and started up onto her pillars. Taking in a breath of air as she looked at them while she stood upon her daggers. Shaking her head as she turned and slowly started to walk away from her children. Wanting to turn around but she kept her head forwards and continued on her wanders forwards. Sighing as she shook her head lightly. Feeling as the tears were still falling from her face as she wandered forwards.  She walked for miles and miles from her children. It had seemed like she had been walking for no time at all, but in fact she had been walking for days. Hardly stopping to eat or drink. The depression had hit her so hard that she could not even function right. That was until the tiredness and everything had hit her all at once. Her daggers buckling under her figure as she slowly started to fall down to the ground below. Snorting as her body hit the ground with a loud thud sound. Her body now stretched out upon the ground. Eyes wanting to close so bad but she refused. Shifting her head up slightly before she could force herself to get up. She was going to go and take the chance by the water's edge. Moving her daggers over to the water's edge and down she went again with a thud. Eyes looking at the water as it flowed over her body. Sipping at it lightly before she just let her head lay up on the shore and the rest of her body rested in the water. Every time Marauder either was driven out or he was forced to flee. Over the years he tried to start his own herd only to have other upstart and older stallions come along and have his mares stolen from him. Every time he just simply retreated but that was going to end here today as he would now stand and fight and die rather than run away. Now he was just wondering on where he was and just who was around here. The large sorrel roan Belgian had not seen a fellow equine for a few weeks by now and it was now starting to make him a little nervous. If he truly was alone then that means he either would die alone or become some predators meal. That is when a slight breeze blew up and he pointed his nose to the sky. He was trying to see if there was any familiar or unfamiliar scents around.

That is when a faint one passed in and out of his massive nares, it was distant but Mardy could not stop and wonder that he had smelled this scent before. The question though was where? Only way was to start tracking and following where ever this would lead him. He was not scared as he was a massive 17.2 hand high Belgian and so there was a really good chance he would out size who ever this other equine was. He always hated how it seemed that he wandered off, when in fact he had no choice in the matter he either left or died. That is when the scent trail sort of started to tapper off a little. Marauders heart then almost froze as he thought that he went to far and so was going away from the source. But no he decidede to go forward and to see just what was up ahead of him.

The sorrel roan draft stallion then popped up over a small knoll and there on the other side was a pond and another horse. He almost jumped up and skipped in joy another horse was here and so he was not truly alone either. He then just stood there studying this other horse, he was the type to get as much information about a stranger before talking with them. From the smell this other horse was built like him mostly draft but the other thing was this one was a mare. Marauder was now taking notes in that she was by herself and so would be more easy to corner and claim. If this was the old Marauder he would of wanted to talk but no he was now more assertive in his demeanor than ever before. But there was still that nagging pull that he had cross paths with this mare before but where was still a mystery to the Belgian. Mardy though was getting no answers standing here so he decided to slowly walk up, as running towards her might raise the alarm and she would then try to flee from him. He did take one last mental note, and that was he was liking what he was seeing. When Marauder had this happen he usually got what he wanted and what he wanted was this mare. He then abruptly stopped at the waters edge before speaking softly.

" Hello there, You seemed a little lost around here. Anything I can help you with miss?"

He then waited for an answer back, then he can find out more about this mare that had caught his eye for a third time, and he didn't even know it yet.

i am. . . . . . . . . . the queen of monsters Zilla was sick of living at this point. Eyes were closed as she laid upon the ground with a sad look there through her body language. Then the scent of a stag hit her nares and she knew just who it was. Seeing that she just knew who it was. Only for the fact her children had smelled like such a thing. His words were soft and almost caring light but she knew just what he was doing. Shifting the weight under her daggers as her eyes looked over towards the stag. "Trying to get some where aren't you, Mardy." She said as she looked at him up and down. Her face shown the tear trail that was there on her. Sighing as she turned and looked back over at the water before her figure fell down to the ground. Her body was too weak to stand up and even speak towards Mardy. Eyes looking down towards the ground in a bit of disappointment. Sighing at the fact that she was feeling ever so weak. "I'm. . .I'm sorry." She said as she looked away from the stag. Not even looking at the stag she so called, loved. Knowing he probably went and found another mare to pass on his genes some more. No, she was not that jealous mare. She just wished that he would be a father and enjoy what she had given him, but now that was gone. Eyes closed as she wrapped his skull around her figure as if she did not realize he was still there. She really just wanted to rot away. All Zilla wanted was happiness. Not a stallion that thought he needed so many mares to make himself happy. Seeing that she had given him sons and her love and it was like she was spat in the face every time he went off. Seeing that every time he went off, it was to go see a mare. Leaving her to raise their children and then she watched them die. That is all she could think of at this point as her body laid there. Motionless it seemed but had a slight shake to it due to the pain that was running through her legs from walking so much and her insides hurt from heart break. Marauder was still trying to see just what type of mare was in front of him. From the shape of the head he knew it was no dainty light breed, but either a mix or draft. He was standing still trying to figure this all out when she turned her head around and said that he was trying to get somewhere and called him Mardy. That is when it all fell into place and hit him like a couple of tons of bricks. this was Zilla one of his first mares he ever was able to get to come and live with him. But that was all before it went wrong, when challengers first started to steal Marauders mares and then driving him off of his lands. Yes he could of stayed and fought and died but he just thought it would be easier for everyone if he just left.  That is when he seen just how unresponsive she was and the only other words that came from the light colored mare was I'm sorry. Marauder then knew something was deathly wrong, but what was still a mystry to the large sorrel roan stallion. 

That is when he slowly walked up to her and then stretched out to massage her withers with his lips. Then the Belgian spoke softly in almost a whisper.

" Zilla I was not expecting to ever see you again, but am glad that I have. Is there something the matter and if so what is it, please speak to me Zilla."

His tone was pure concerned over the mare and if this was caused by some other horse then god forbid as Marauder was going to rip them apart and leave nothing to remember them by.

Eyes had fallen upon the stag as he slowly started to think more and more. An then it had finally hit him when she noticed his face change. Knowing that he had some crazy thoughts running through his mind at this point. Hearing the sound of his pillars coming towards her still figure. Feeling as his lips reached down and started to mess with her shoulder. An then hearing him whisper into her thorns. Hearing that he didn't not expect her to even be seen by him again. Though he was right because she thought she would never see him again either. She just allowed her breaths to ease as she heard him ask for her to speak of what happened.

So she shifted her weight as she listened to his concerned toned voice. Shifting slightly more as she gazed over towards him and then allowed her head to the ground. Turning her skull so that her head was between her front pillars but she could speak and he would be able to hear her. "Their gone, Mardy. Both of them are gone." She said softly. Feeling as the tears started to fill up again before slowly move her skull out and gazing up towards the stag. Unsure of just what his reaction would be as she continued on. "I. . .I went to go see the boys. Like I always did when you disappeared from me. I wanted to see how they were doing and. . ." Words stopped when she could see their faces again. The blood covering their bodies form the harsh bites and such that were put upon their figures. ". . .a band of bachelors came through. We thought they were just going on their way, but they stopped. . . .they pinned me down and. . .and. . .i was weak. . .I watched. . .I watched as they vandalized our children. Their cries. . .I. . .I can still hear them still and. . .and their faces. . ." She could not help it anymore. Her body now trembling again.

"Our boys. . .our boys. . ." Is all that she could say as she curled up her figure. Her body looking like a rock laying there and shaking lightly. All she wanted was her youngsters back. Sighing as she just wanted her babies back with her. She loved them ever so much that she did not know just what he might even say. But she was a hurt mare. Her spirit drained, body lacked food and water and even slumber was hard to do after everything that had happened to her.

Marauder was just standing by Zilla and expecting her to do like she always did and send him on a guilt trip. Yes the trip on how he disappeared and never was around or came back or even cared. Didn't she know that if he had a choice he would always want to be by her every day of his life. But the big sorrel roan stallion was not ready for what Zilla had to say. It blind sided the Belgian like a ton of bricks from out of the sky. That is when Zilla started to talk about their two colts their almost twin sons except that Dusty was the eldest and Balor was the younger brother they had very similar color pelts. Zilla said that a band of stallions came and then raped them and forced Zilla to watch it all unfold. It was almost too much to take, the massive Belgian stallion then slammed his right front hoof into the ground as his anger built up and he spoke with a cold malicious voice.


" I'll not rest, I'll not stop until every single one of these monsters is dead. You are not to blame for anything, it is I that is to blame since I was not there. But I was chased out or challenged all the time, and so I got tired of it and figured I could leave it all behind me."

Marauder then caught himself before gathering his thoughts and feelings. He then finished in a more hushed and reserved tone.

" Zilla I want you to be my lead mare since I know what I would be getting with you. I want a new begining but more importantly I want a true home. A true home and so not having to move all the time or look over my back to see just who else wants my pelt. I totally understand if you turn me down and tell me to pack up."


Mardy then slowly started to groom the large draft mares mane. He was going to try and do what he should of done years ago, that being a true mate to Zilla and not worry about himself. From here on out it was going to be doing what was best for Marauders mares and Zilla was going to be the keystone mare to get that home that she deserved.

Zilla could see that Mardy was angered by some horrible words that had come out of her muzzle. Well of course Zilla wanted to tell Mardy what had happened to their children. He had the rights to know such a thing.Sighing as she seemed to have curled her figure up a bit more while she took in his words. Her body wanted to curl up and cry herself to sleep. "I could have saved them, Mardy. You don't understand. I was not strong enough for my boys and I blame myself for that. I have walked for days and days with no food or water. Not even rest due to all of this. I want them back now. I'd give anything to have my boys back." Saying words in a saddened tones before more words entered her thorns from the stag.

He wanted to make her lead mare. To go and pick up the pieces and then change them around the things they have done and make everything better. To go on to a real home. But she didn't know what yo do right now. Her shakey body coming slowly up off of the ground. Falling slightly before getting all the way up. "Mardy I dont know what to do right now. We've gone through a lot together and ive heard lately that you think I can be a jealous mare. I guess the mares that fall all over you think they are talkin to some odd mare that does not know the stud that has laid his moves on them. It hurts mardy and all I did was love you and wanted loved back. I went and gave you two beautiful children and wanted you to be a father. An you had the nerve to call me jealous. I dont know what to do right now. I just want my. . ." Words paused as she fell to the ground again. Snorting loudly as she laid there. "And I cant even f_cking walk at this point." She snorted as she flopped onto her side. Closing her eyes as she felt the tears filling up but being held back by the bit of strength she had.

Marauder was not getting any calmer the more Zilla was talking she still said it was all her fault in what had happen. He knew that she was close to the breaking point and he had to work carefully in order for her not to be pushed over the edge of no return. He was now going to be on the warpath and if any of these stallions so much as show up he was going to put them down for good. He listen to what the big draft mare had to say and it seemed that she had not eat, drink, or even slept since both their colts was killed. Deep down he couldn't blame her for that but yet she still needed to look after herself. So when she finally finished up by saying she would do anything to get Dusty or Balor back, Mardy then chimed in.

" Again you was not to blame for this Zilla, you wasn't the one that caused this, no matter how much you want to believe it was. And yes I would gladly swap places to have Dusty and Balor alive again."

But before Marauder could continue she then went to another totally different subject, a subject that the sorrel roan stallion was not prepared for at the least. Zilla said that she heard that she was called a jealous mare and that it hurt her when she heard of such from others. So he just stood there not saying a word until Zilla collapsed. He now needed to do something or risk loosing her for good. He then thought that maybe he could roll her over and when she got to her feet she could lean on him. But he then said one last thing.

" Again Zilla I always loved you and would do anything for you, but I was constantly attacked and driven off every time I tried to establish myself somewhere. I either had a choice stand and either get seriously injured or killed or just walk off, but no more as I'm making this my last stand here and is no longer going to retreat. So now I'll not take no for an answer as I want you as my lead mare. Now can you make it to your feet if so you can lean on me and I'll get you to the grass that is a short distance ahead. When you get there you can lay down and eat like that. I came too far to just watch you give up like this. So if you are ready let me know as I'll be right by you every step of the way."

If Zilla died like this he had no idea just what he would do. He was getting a darker side and it was slowly but steadily coming out the longer he was here. Again the one mare he liked above all others was real close to dying and the only way she could make it is if she wanted his help. But that was just it would Zilla want the Belgians help or not. If not no matter what he would say could change her mind on that. He just let out a thunderous whinny to let everyone around know he was not happy and he wanted someones head on a pike. Now the ball was in Zilla's court and it was up to her and her only on what to do with it. Would she take it and use it or just push it away and not want nothing to do with it.
