just lil ol' georgia

Daggers shifted as this young mare made her way over the land with thorns perked upon her skull as her eyes danced from one place to another. Her strangely patterened pelt shimmering in the light of the sun as it shined down upon her body. Flickering her banner side to side as she started to trot forwards over the land. Snorting as she could feel that it was going to rain soon and she would need to find some where to rest soon. Only so that she could keep herself from the rain that was heading into her direction. Then she had found a perfect site to go and rest at. Eyes looking at the nice set of bushes that had some kind of opening at between them. Snorting lightly as she looked around to see if anyone was coming before she moved her way forwards. Looking around at the opening of her new found resting place. Making sure that no one was in t and of course no one was surprisingly. So she moved back out and then turned her figure so her rump was facing the bush. Taking her body and walking backwards into the pushes. Feeling the leaves brushing against her figure as she walked back.

Taking her pillars and bowing them under her figure as she slowly allowed her body to fall down to the ground below her. Eyes looking around as she had tucked herself into this well found place and as soon as she got settled, the down pour came. Smiling as she was proud of herself for finding this place just in time. Gazing around at the water falling. Feeling the temperature slowly drop and her breath slowly floating into the air in a steaming kind of motion. Smiling still upon her muzzle before she wrapped her head around her body. Just resting her eyes as she allowed her listeners to take in the things that were around her body. Awaiting the sound of someone coming towards her or some other creature thinking that it could come and destroy her well made resting place.

KODA

The mountain rose above him, dark clouds gathering ominously around the peak. There was a storm coming - there was no doubt about that in his mind. Oh, how he wished he could be tucked safely inside a home of his own, with no worry of the downpour moving swiftly in. In fact, he could see the oncoming sheets of rain. There was no chance of his out running the storm. It was going to be a cold one. The temperature was testament to that.

It hit him quick and hard. His pelt was soaked through in seconds. His auds lay flat against his skull in a hasty attempt to keep the freezing rain from slipping in. He made no attempt to seek cover now. He decided there was no point. He as wet already; might as well continue with his intended task.

He shivered as he plowed further into the territory. He was trudging through a mud patch when he spotted the mare tucked into the nook made by the bushes. She was dry, hidden back from the torrential downpour. He envied her in that moment. He stepped closer, so that he wouldn't have to speak quite a loud. "Hello, there, Miss. Good idea you had there," he said gesturing to her hide-away. "Koda." He dipped his crown in greeting, his water-heavy mane sliding into his face.

She was a gorgeous mare, but he was careful. Anything could happen, anywhere. However, she seemed safe enough to stick around and chat with. He could only hope that she deemed the same of him.

Georgia could not help but hear the sound of someone coming towards the splash of the water coming out of the puddles from heavy hooves flying up did not stop her from turning her head slowly and looking to see who might be coming over towards where she was resting at. Eyes had fallen upon the sight of a soaking wet Grulla stallion that made his way over toward her. Shifting lightly to where her head was under the brush as her light blue orbs looked slowly up towards the stag. 

Thorns taking in the words of this equine as they floated into the direction of this femme figure. Looking around at him noticing her hide away. Smiling softly as she gazed towards him as she dipped her skull towards him with thorns perked. Shifting the weight of her figure as she stood up upon her daggers and gazed at him with perked thorns. "Hello and thank ya. Ya know you can come in if ya like to. Even though I know your wet already. Least ya won't get so soaked." Saying her words with a thick southern drawl as she backed up slowly. to allow him the space to come on in. "The name is Georgia, Sir Koda." She said with thorns perked upon her skull.

Yes, she had just met this stag, but why do you leave a stallion out in the rain. Its ever so polite of her to let him come in and atleast warm up a tad bit before her journeys to any other place around here. Smiling as she was started to wander about this stallion. He was so handsome and beautiful in many ways that she did not know what she was going to do, but she knew she was going to keep her cool and just speak to the stag since she was new around here. Maybe he could help her learn more about this place.

KODA

He dipped his crown in acceptance to her invitation to join her away from the freezing rain and the chilling draft that accompanied it. "Thank you," he uttered, resisting the strong urge to shake the droplets from his pelt. No need to unnecessarily soak her as well. No need for her to catch cold because he had decided on a stroll in the rain.

The foliage offered a surprising amount of comfort, and their combined body heat warmed the small area up quite quickly and significantly. The cold had long settled into his skin, however, and he couldn't help the shakes that occasionally racked his body. He relished the ideas of a warm home, dry and comfortable in his own little piece of heaven, with others that he loved by his side.

He focused entirely on her. He watched her face closely, watching for any signs of discomfort, any indications that it was time for him to back off. If there was one thing he wanted, it was to make her comfortable. She had chosen to allow him into her little safe haven, and he didn't intend to make her feel as though she didn't belong in an area she had discovered. This was her place, and she had graciously granted him comfort.

"Are you new here?" He knew she was, of course, but this wasn't something he exactly knew how to do. This whole meeting new equines was new to him. He wasn't sure how to go about learning about another's past, and he wasn't even sure that she would want to share anything with him. After all, it wasn't a common thing to just share your life's story with a complete stranger.

She gave him a smile from her muzzle as it was kind of sheepish as he started his way in and said his Thank you towards him. Giving him a nod of her skull before allowing any words to form from her muzzle. "You are welcome. Least it is a tad bit warmer here." She said with a smile there on her muzzle. Seeing that his body was wanting to shake but he was able to hold off on trying to do such a thing. Though it was ever so kind of him she wanted to say to go ahead and shake off but she knew that they would all be screwed there. Shifting her weight slightly as she cocked her hind pillar and watched to see just what this stud might say towards her.

Georgia was kind of happy to see that he was seeming to want to make sure that he was okay and just in some kind of happy place. She kind of like that about him. Since it was rare to see a stallion like this in most places. Though she was happy to meet him and knew that it was very kind of her to join her in this place. Though why leave a fellow equine to stand out in the rain and plus this would be the first equine for her to meet in this new place.

Her mind wandering before she caught the sound of his voice coming into her thorns. She nodded her skull when he had asked her if she was new around here. "Yes, sir, this is the first place I walk into and . . . it rains." She said with a slight bit of laughter coming from her muzzle as she looked around at the place and then let her eyes fall right back to where he was at with thorns perked. "What about you? Have you been here long?" She asked to kind of keep the conversation going. Hoping that she would not be asking to much towards this stag.

KODA

She was a quick one to smile. He liked that. "It's much warmer than out there," he said, glancing back out into the storm he had jus been in. Lightning flashed in the distance, followed shortly by a low rumble of thunder. The mountain would be pouring rivers for days once this was over. The landscape would look entirely different, he was sure.

He shook his dome slightly, careful not to sling water everywhere. "Please, no 'sir', just Koda. My momma called me Koda, and I want you to call me Koda." His words were soft, and his eyes twinkled. He didn't see any need for her to refer to him so formally. After all, he felt like they were past that point.

Auds perked forward as she spoke. He had been correct in his assumption that she was new. Why else would she have been in the lands by her lonesome? "I've been here awhile. Long enough to get acquainted with many of the lands." He paused, glancing out again. "Though I've only been to this one a few times. And never in the rain." It changed everything. It could change a land you knew from every blade of grass to every leaf on the trees to a land completely incomprehensible. It was unnerving.

"If you don't mind my asking, what brought you here?" It was personal, and he hoped he hadn't crossed a line far too early. But, he supposed that was the entire point of this process. Get to know one another, become friends, offer each other protection, or a home, or - eventually - complete and utter companionship in the most intimate of ways. But that was a step he wasn't moving toward any time soon. He didn't want to rush her into anything neither of them were ready for.

This warmth that started to grow within the area they were in was so much better than being balled up on the ground. She knew she would still feel that bit of cold upon her figure if she was there upon the ground. Taking in a deep breath of air before her mind went and focused upon the stallion as he spoke, 'It's much warmer than out there.' She could not help but nod and look out into the opening that she could see. "Yes it is much warmer and warmer than being balled up on the ground trying to warm up." Saying her words before she heard the loudness of the thunder after she had saw a flash of light. Making her jump just a tad bit from the sound as she took in a deep breath to try and relax herself for a moment.

Her thorns taking in more of his words as she turned her orbs and got her mind in a different place than the loud thunder. Hearing him say to not call him sir, but by Koda only. She let out of soft snicker as she could feel her cheeks getting warm from her seeming to be blushing. "Sorry, I recon it's kinda a habit." Southern vocals heading into his direction to hear that his voice was not ever harsh in any way. Shifting as she cocked her hind right pillar while she watched him carefully.

Georgia took in the sound of this stag as he told her about the fact he had been here for a while. An that he had met a lot of equines on his journey around this place. Though of course he had never come here to meet someone and it end up raining. She could not help but laugh slightly as she looked out at the rain with a smile. "I guess this is so that we could talk to one another better than out in the open." She said with a smile upon her muzzle almost felt like she was flirting but she was trying not to make it seem like such a thing truly. It was just how she said it but she pushed it back of her mind and took in the other words he had said towards her.

Hearing him ask her what had brought her to where they were. She knew that she could go and lie to the stag but she could not do such a thing. Even though she always kept her distance from the stag only because of her past life, but of course she would have to push that to the side and know that not all stallions were not like the one that she was with before. So she took in a deep breath as she prepared herself to tell this stag her past. "You could say that I came here running from my old herd. The stallion that. . .well that was the lead stallion of our herd kind of watched me over the years and when he knew I hit that right age he started coming after me and I had to run.  An here I am. The first place I have been able to stop and actually rest." She said in all honestly as she looked at the stag and then looked down. Knowing that a lot of equines would turn and leave when they know a hungry stallion like that was coming for them, but of course Georgia did not know much about this stag and just how he might just ask.

KODA

He was watching her close enough to notice her jolt when the thunder struck. He wondered what had happened to make her fear the loud noise so. Maybe it was just the ingrown fear some were born with. It woke a deep-ingrained instinct awake in him to protect the mare in front of him. He realized that he didn't want her to be afraid of anything for the rest of her days, no matter the type of relationship they did or did not form. No one should fear something like the sound of thunder, which could cause no bodily damage. Such a simple action tugged on his heart. But for now, while they were still getting comfortable with one another, he wouldn't act on his instincts. He would let this slide, though he watched her for any other signs of fears.

When she spoke again, he listened close. Her drawl was one he hadn't hear before. It was enlightening. This place, which he had inhabited for so many months, and met so few in them, was drawing in others from so many different areas. Who knew that there were so many places. But her speech was, by far, the most unique he had come across. He had never heard another that talked like she did. He rather liked it. It was refreshing to hear a voice that spoke of a land he had never heard of, and would likely never visit. "I can understand that. Habits are hard to break. But I don't want you to feel like you need to call me by such a title."

He took a small step closer, to hear what she was saying better. She took a deep breath before she spoke, and he instantly felt bad for asking her to retell a story that obviously hurt her so. He wanted to take it back, so she wouldn't have to be hurt by the memories. But it was too late, so all he could do was listen, and offer unwavering support. Her story angered him. How could any stag that led others - a group that trusted them to protect them - even think of such things. It angered him that she was forced to leave her home because some jerk that worked his way to the top thought he could take things that didn't belong to him.

He stretched his dome in her direction, keeping a respectable distance. He could understand if she lacked in trust. Something like that did certain things to the mentality of a creature. There were some things that shouldn't be messed with. Like chasing a mare long before she was of correct age. Like attempting the forcing of a coupling - that was a certain process that should be agreed upon by both parties. "I'm sorry you had to go through such a thing." He checked her reaction before he continued. "However, I am glad that it brought you here. I've enjoyed talking with you."

Georgia did not like being this jumpy mare, but that noise was ever so unexpecting to her. An all it reminded her of was the thundering hooves that were charging after her when she was running. She kind of hated the thought of him coming after her. All she wanted was to be happy, protected and most of all LOVED. She did not want to be runned down and forced to love someone and bare their children. It was just something she was not up to doing at all at this point. She wanted to be loved and love that she was allowed to do and not forced. Its like being put into a forced marriage with not even getting two words or even knowledge of the one she was going to have to love. Though she began to noticed the stud's attitude was beginning to change when she had jumped as if she was with a great stag that would protect her and treat her like a mare should be treated. 


She was also kind of glad that this stallion understood just why she said, sir, all of the time. Giving a soft smile to him as she did not have many that had asked her to stop saying sir. He had been the first stag that had asked her to call him by his name. An she was thinking of just how to answer this stag with the words that he said towards her thorns. "Why thank you. I guess I've been around too many stallions from my old herd that wanted to be called Sir and not by their name. I guess they thought that stallions had to be more respected instead of the elders of the herd." She had replied since it seemed to be true or the stallion that had chased her down would not have done what he did. For he would know that she was young and needed to find a stud around her age and not his to belong to. 

Eyes watching as this stallion had stepped up closer to where she was standing at. Knowing that he was listening carefully to the words that she was telling him. Being able to tell by the looks of this stag that he really wanted to suck in all that he had asked her. Though she had spilled her words into his direction after she had finished she could see that this stallion went from calm and collected to a bit pissed deep within his body. Knowing that this stallion was one of those stallions that believed in protecting their own and not daring to harm any of his herd members, but who knows what other beliefs he had within him. For he seemed in such a different alliance than she was but of course that did not make her change her mind on just what she was thinking deep down inside about others since she wanted all to be equal.


Her head not retreating as he stretched his skull right into her direction. Seeing that he was trying to be respectful of her space but also could see the lack of her thought about with trusting stallions. Though of course she kind of tried to hide that part of her and would leave when she needed to but this stag was ever so comforting to her. Giving him a soft smile from her muzzle as she looked to the stag and then took in the words of this stag. Allowing the smile to slightly disappear as he took in everything he had to say towards her. 'I'm sorry you had to go through such a thing. However, I am glad that it brought you here. I've enjoyed talking with you." Hearing that tugged the corners of her muzzle with a smile wanting to show up even bolder than it had been. Reaching over towards him slowly as she nipped at his lip playfully. An then she slowly moved her head away not like she was scared or anything. Just so that she could speak towards the stallion. "I thank you even though its not your fault for the stallion's actions. Guess some stallions think they can control others. And I'm very glad to have met you. Talking with you is quite nice and actually. . .relaxing." She said with all honesty. Georgia was kind of growing to trust this stag and wanted to get to know him more and hope to not see any horrible side to him.

KODA

He felt his body tense as she spoke. Of course, he knew that stallions like that existed. Some believed that they were as high on the totem pole as they could get, and they deserved the utmost respect without earning it. Most weren't smart enough to realize that they were nothing without their mares. Who would take keep the band stitched together, or care for the young, or find the best grazing places? They seemed to forget that it was a mare that birthed them, that nursed them, that raised them to the age where they could even begin to think such things. Mares were the backbone of the world. No stallion was a good stallion without his girls to keep his world together. He couldn't imagine thinking that he was any better than any mare he met.

Such thoughts angered him beyond words. "If I may speak so bluntly, they're all a bunch of morons. I couldn't imagine making you think I was better than you just because our anatomy is made differently." He snorted in frustration. If he ever came across the stags that put such thoughts into her head, he would gladly beat them into a pulp. Stomp on them until they realized they were in the wrong. He shook his dome, trying to force the thoughts into the back of his mind, when he could mull it over alone. She didn't need to see him in such a state when the wounds were so fresh to her. He couldn't do that to her. It would kill him.

Instead, he focused back onto her. It was obvious she had noticed his reaction, but she didn't seem to be too torn up over it. She nipped at him, and he playfully jerked away. He didn't expect her to actually try to hurt him - not that he would even consider retaliating if she did. She was speaking again, and he flicked his auds back to her to listen. She enjoyed speaking with him as much as he enjoyed speaking with her. He felt his heart swell. He was glad. "I know we don't know much about each other, and you are welcome to ask me any questions whenever you would like, but I feel like there's a connection between us. I don't have a place to call home yet. I'm working on that. But I would like to offer you a place with me if you would like." He maintained eye contact as well as he could. Eye contact was a big thing with him. Important conversations were better had with a lot of eye contact, and he believed it showed respect to the other.

He hadn't been this nervous in a long time. He wanted her to agree to his proposition, though he would understand if she denied it. Though there was plenty of time for them to learn more about the other, they knew almost nothing now. He just hoped his actions to her showed her that he was someone that she would be able to trust, and that he would never hurt her like the brutes in her past had. That wasn't how he was raised, and that wasn't the kind of mindset he was in. He couldn't imagine ever laying a hoof on someone as precious as she was.

GEORGIA

It was always nice to know that this stallion was in this way. He was kind and gentle in the way he spoke and just by the way he was holding himself. It was kind of nice truly. To be able to stand here and listen to this stag and hop that he would understand where she was coming from and then she took in the words of the stag through her thorns. She could not help but smile a bit more as he did kind of have her beliefs in some way. All she wanted to do was to go and hug this stallion for the words he had said towards her. "A lot of stallions need to think like you do. Since you seem to know that we are all equal no matter what. I mean doesn't a stallion need his mare? Even needs her to bare the children that he is wanting to pass on their genes together. It's crazy to think of just what some stallion's think at this point." She said in all honesty. Talking to this stallion was ever so relieving of the mind. 

Eyes watching this stag as he snorted with all frustration and had gone and stomped his dagger into the ground. Seeing that he was pissed at the subject and shook his head to probably clear his mind from this speech they were having between the two of them. Then seeing that he had quickly turned his gaze back onto her. Yes, she had saw everything he had done but of course he knew that she was watching. Grinning and letting off a soft laugh from his muzzle as he jerked away in a playful manner. Watching to reach out and nip playfully at him again but of course he had began to speak towards her with a bit of happiness within his voice. 'I know we don't know much about each other, and you are welcome to ask me any question whenever you would like, but I feel like there's a connection between us. I don't have a place to call home yet. I'm working on that. But I would like to offer you a place with me if you would like.' He had gone and offered her a home to stay in. Yes he did not have one just yet, but that did not mess with her much. She knew she would be safe with this stag. Seeing the sight of his eyes looking right into hers. She could not even move at this point. Her excitement was out of the zone that she was in before.

Her eyes looked down as she could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks as she could feel that she was starting to blush right underneath beautiful pelt. Seeing the nervous look right upon his body language. She could not help but take her gaze and put it right back into his eye contact. Taking her figure and slowly moving closer and closer to him to where they were only about an inch from their noses touching. An with a smile upon her muzzle she began to say, "Koda. . ." Leaving a long pause between her words as she looked at the stud with a wide smile. ". . .I would love to go and stay with you. You don't even have to even have a home. I will  stay with you no matter what." Her words were kind, loving and in a way that she never thought she would ever talk to a stag. She just felt ever so happy with him and protected at this point to where she just wanted to curl up to the stag and smile and not let that smile ever leave.

She had been talking to this stag for so long that she did not realize that the rain had eased up and was at a drizzle at this point. So as she looked over in the corner of her eye. She could not help but play a bit of a game just to have some kind of fun with the stag. Her eyes stayed on him for a moment before she quickly reached out and nipped the tip of his nose with a smile upon her muzzle as she quickly turned and ran out with a nicker from her muzzle as she took off out of the bush. Snickering as she stood on the outside in a playful stance. Her banner held high over her back with a smile there as she waited to see just what he might do as she was ready to have a bit of fun for a moment.

KODA

He listened closely as she spoke. Her thoughts followed along nicely with his. Or his followed hers. Either way, their thinking train followed the same tracks. That was exciting. It wasn't often he found others that thought the same ways he did. She was ever so true, when she spoke of the stallions needing their mares. He was lost without his girls. "You're absolutely right. But we don't need y'all just for the young ones. You girls do so much more than that." He was sounding sappy, he knew, but he was serious about the subject. He couldn't imagine going back to a life without his girls by his side.

She moved impossibly close after his offer. When she spoke his name and nothing more, he felt his blood pressure rise. She was taunting him, he knew, but it didn't make him any less nervous to hear her answer. She was a tease. And then she was talking again, and he felt his muscles relax and the tension leave his body. He was ecstatic that she had agreed to join him. With Georgia and Ilene by his side, he could gain them a home. A place to live, and to grow as a family. He was beyond excited. He would give them the best life he could. "I'm so glad to hear that!"

But then she nipped his nose, and ran. He was confused for a moment, before he noticed the playful way she stood once she was free of their temporary shelter. The light rain darkened her pelt. Then, life a bullet, he was after her, a deep laugh vibrating through his chest. If she wanted a game of chase, he would give it to her. His mustang blood would run him strong, and he would give her the game of her life. He was still young enough that he loved a little fun. For a little bit, he could set his responsibilities to the side, and enjoy the moment he was having with her.
