Daggers shifted under this stags figure. Eyes looking all around as this stag moved forwards. His body feeling as the blood from his body began to run down from the cuts he had received. Unsure of just how he had found his way into the barb wire, but it had happened and he was lucky to have found a way out of where he was at. But now he knew that he had to get out of here. He was not going to take any of the madness anymore. So he quickly moved on to where ever he could to rest and get cleaned up all at once. Eyes looking down as he halted near the sight of water. Allowing his figure to stand there for a moment as he knew what was going to happen when he would walk deep into this water. Taking in a deep breath of air as he forced himself into the water's edge. Feeling the coolness upon his body as he moved further and further into the water and once his wounds hit the water. His eyes closed tightly and his body was wanting him to scream out but of course he held back. Opening his eyes slowly as he watched the water start to change to red in the light of the moon. Sighing as he allowed his body to soak and then move from the water with thorns slightly back from the pain. Doing this process over and over again until his body had a nice scar upon it and it was healed the best that it could go.

He had found himself now in a new land. His eyes looking all around with thorns perked high on his skull as he took in a deep breath of air. Enjoying the sweet smell of this air. Taking a moment to flicker his thorns around upon his skull to listen for anyone around and then he started to walk again. Finding himself another beautiful piece of water. Gazing over it with a smile as he liked the warm air that seemed to have come forth over this land and he started over to this water. Dropping down into the water with thorns perked and luckily no pain hitting his body. Enjoying this water with a smile upon his muzzle. Allowing his body to almost disappear into the water. Only his head seemed to be there as he laid at the edge. Allowing his skull to rest on the surface as he slowly closed his orbs. Knowing he would be safe since he would be able to tell if someone was coming in his direction or trying to come and harm him.

The steely blue mare stood carefully to her pillars as not to wake her slumbering child. The duo had stopped to take a nap after a night of long travels just trying to make it here. They had stopped to rest among the tall grass, good camouflage for her tiny daughter and herself, she could rest with an ease of mind. She dipped her crown and tore at the grasses flicking her banner across her hocks before raising her crown to scan the area and chew what she had in her mouth. She flicked a glance at her daughter and saw she was still fast asleep so there was no need to worry yet, yet being the key word. Dawn had a tendency to enjoy scaring her mother and running off was not off limits, you think by now she would be used to it but sadly the mare wasn’t. Dropping her crown once more she tore into the grass more, getting lost in her thoughts and missing the stirring of grass and those tiny hoof falls running off along with the giggles. However Dusk did get herself together and realized that indeed her child had ran off once again. With a sigh she turned and galloped off following the trail of her zig zagging daughter with a call going out to her, a very annoyed call at that.

Dawn had once more played her mother and had snuck off heading toward the smell of water, she giggled and pushed her tiny frame not in a straight path, ignoring her mothers pleas and calls because what fun would that be? Dawn soon saw the water but was not alone there was another horse there and so she bonded over to him and stopped in front of him squaring herself, “HELLO MISTER WHATS YOUR NAME?” She called with a giggle waiting.

Dusk was hot on her daughters trail and was gaining fast when she heard her daughter speaking and nearly choked on a mouthful of grass, quickly crossing to were her daughter stood staring at none other than a stallion. “Dawn I am not very happy with you.” She called bumping her away from the stallion, “Im sorry about my daughter im Dusk and this is Dawn and you are?” She asked waiting.

His body enjoyed the nice coolness of the water over his body. Smiling as he for once enjoyed the resting within the water. Shifting his weight as he heard the sound of small pillars heading into his direction. He wandered just what was coming towards him. For he knew that it could be either a doe, buck, or even a foal with the sounds of the small hooves. For it was not heavy sounded like a predator was coming towards him. An then his eyes fell upon the sight of a small bay roan filly that was coming right into his direction. Allowing a smile upon his muzzle as he watched ever so carefully and then he finally heard the sound of the mother's voice in the background. Perking his thorns upon his skull as he listened to the youngster speak into his direction. Hearing her voice with a giggle following behind and before he could even speak the mother had showed up.


Eyes watching as a soft smile upon her muzzle. Then looked at the mare as she quickly moved the young filly from where he was at as if he was going to harm her. Hearing her harsh sounding words towards her youngin' and then her turning and speaking towards him. Snorting as he slowly got out of the water and gazed upon the mare. "She is perfectly fine. Just doing what all little ones do. An it is nice to meet you Dusk." Pausing as he lowered his skull and looked to the little one with a gentle smile. "And nice to meet you Dawn. My name is Jolin to answer your question." He said with a soft smile upon his muzzle as he slowly lifted his skull and looked towards the mare known as Dusk with thorns perked upon his skull as he looked at her figure. "I will let you know ma'am. That you don't have to worry about little Dawn being so close. I'd never harm a harm on a foal's head. An a very pretty foal at that." He said as a compliment to the little one as he dropped his skull again slowly as he looked at the young Dusk again with that smile.


Then he lifted his head up and looked around the place with thorns perked upon his skull as he was trying to see if they were alone or not. An than he looked over towards Dusk with thorns perked high on his skull still. "Do you two walk alone? or are ya'll just wandering on the outside of y'all's herd?" Asking towards her to see if they had a herd or not. For he knew that it was very dangerous for a mother and child to be wandering without the extra protection of a stallion. Since a stallion's job was to protect the herd and his lead mare was to make sure to help move other's from danger or two places to eat and drink. This was only because everyone had a job within a herd and Jolin would be super pissed if a stallion had gone and ran a mother and child from a herd since they needed the protection. Even with the mother saying they have it. He knew that it would take more than one equine to protect a youngster when they are so young and curious.

Dusk looked to the stallion and relaxed as he spoke “I know you wont harm her but its every mothers duty to worry and protect after all she isn’t that old.” She spoke softly looking the stallion over and then turning to look at her daughter who was making her way over to her and began to drink. “We don’t have a herd we have only just arrived after my mate kicked us out of my own herd I started, I actually had Dawn on my way here, shortly before I arrived actually.” She laughed and shifted slightly but not enough to disturb her daughter, “Have you been here long or did you only just arrive too?” She spoke once more, looking around the area. “Its been hard I don’t sleep very long or much because shes a little stinker and runs off all the time scaring me half to death she thinks it’s a game and you would think I would be used to it by now but im not.” Dusk laughed again as her daughter finished and pranced around them before going to the waters edge, “Don’t get to far in there dear.” She called softly “I wont mommy, what is it?” She questioned softly, Dusk turned away from the stallion and approached her daughter, “its water just like we see on our travels only this happens to be lighter and shallower then other waters we have seen, its ok for you to play in.” She smiled as her daughter ventured slightly out and dusk watched with a careful eye and one ear awaiting Jolins reply.

Jolin was a happy stag to see that a mother was this careful with another equin around. Allowing a soft smile upon his muzzle as he looked at her and nodded his head. "Yes this is very true and its always nice to see a mother that watches their child closely, but I wouldn't watch her so closely. Might be why she is being so rebellious." He had said with a smile there upon his muzzle as he took his gaze and put it upon Dawn for a moment before allowing his eyes to drift back to dusk as she began to speak again. Hearing that they did not have a herd to go and return to. That her own mate had kicked her out of her own herd and she had to birth little Dawn outside the safety of a herd setting. "Well I have to say that , that is wrong in a lot of ways." He said with a snort for he was not all laughing like Dusk was about the subject.

Then she had asked him if he had been here long or did he just arrived. He could not help but node his head towards her. "I have just really arrived here. Took me a while to get here and well a lot of stuff I went through." His words seemed a bit saddened words dripping from his muzzle as he turned his scarred face from her for a moment as he took in a deep breath of air and released it slowly. Eyes than turning and listening to dusk before gazing over to dawn who was wandering over towards the water's edge. Letting a smile come from his muzzle as he watched her for a moment. Gazing at Dusk for a moment but he wanted to go see what Dawn had to say. So he turned and wandered over towards the water himself. 

"Oh yes this water is a lot of fun to play in." He said with a large smile upon his face as he wandered into the water. Dipping his head down and splashing it right into her direction with a big grin upon his muzzle as he gazed at her. His figure ready to move for if the youngster would decide to fling water into his direction.

Dusk shrugged she didn’t hate that he had kicked her out it had just given her an opportunity to find something new. With her attention her daughter she didn’t even here him come over until he spoke and she kind of jumped but smiled kindly and watched as he tossed water at her daughter, who in returned skittered behind her mother and shook herself dry, Dusk laughed and looked back. “Watch,” she spoke calmly dipping her nose into the water and sending a wave of water towards Jolin. “That’s how its done dear.” She once more spoke softly watching as Dawn trotted out and dipped her own nose sending some water Jolins way with a giggle and then sending water her mothers way who returned it just as quickly before stepping in further and lowering her frame to give a quick roll on each side, oh how she loved the water and missed being near it daily. Dusk stood and shook, “I missed being near the water my old herd was established near a cost line so we had a wonderful beach within it.” She spoke watching her daughter frolic and play in the water, “mommy are we going to stay with Jolin?” Dusk smiled, “I don’t know sweetie we have only just met and I hardly know a thing about him.” She spoke kindly then looked to Jolin, “Please tell me about yourself.” She spoke waiting.

Jolin had not had this much fun in a long time. Smiling softly as he looked over the young equine with thorns perked high upon the top of her skull. Wondering just what the two of them were up to when Dusk spoke over towards little Dawn. An then all of a sudden there was a good amount of water heading into his direction. Snorting with a smile as he backed up quickly, but still ended up drenched in water that she sent flying into his direction. Snickering as he heard Dusk speak towards Dawn and then feeling the sound of water heading into his direction. Grinning as he looked back towards Dawn with a smile. Bending his head down and sending water into her direction again and trotting some away. Having just to much fun with a young foal than he thought he would.

Body slowing down and watching as the little Dawn laid down within the water and rolled all around in it for a moment. Then his eyes turned over towards Dusk as she started to speak again. Speaking about her old herd and missing that time being near water and it having such a wonderful beach setting. He could not help but smile over towards the mare as she spoke and he nodded his skull towards her. "Yes, it is always beautiful and just grand to be near water. For the heat, fun and even just something soothing to drink. Though it is just very relaxing to be around." He agreed to what she had said about the water comment and placed his eyes over towards Dawn. Watching her jump around and have a bit of fun. Then he heard Dawn speak towards her mother.

The words that she spoke kind of placed a wonderful smile upon his muzzle. He felt ever bit of special to what she had asked of her mother about staying with him. An he knew he would definitely allow her to stay with them. Grinning as he looked over towards Dawn while taking in Dusk words about being not sure since they had just met him. An then she turned her attention to Jolin and spoke towards him and asked for him to speak about himself. So he knew he would  have to do such a thing so that he could hang with little Dawn some more. Since he had always wanted to have a foal all of his life and that had not happened just yet.

"Hm well where do I begin, I was brought into a herd where my father was the lead stallion, but he had died just before I was born. An I was suppose to get his place as lead when I grew of age, but the lead that had taken his place was not going to allow that to ever happen. So, this ended up with me being chanced off from where I lived by two outside stallions." Pausing as he continued to think of just what he was going to say next. "An as I ran I saw my father's body, they had chased him before I was born and he had been wrapped in a lot of barb wire and I thought that would be me. Which it slowly started to happen and let met tell you that it did not feel great at all. An they just left me there, but here I am now. Standing before you and not sure how I got out of that barb wire." He replied to her question. Yes, he could have gone into the graphics but he would not do such a thing and not with a little one around.

"So you can say I have been through some things and kind of miss being in or even having a herd." He said softly while he looked over towards her. Hoping that they would come with him so that the can try and start a herd of his own. Shifting his weight in his thought as he moved over towards Dusk. "I do ask you Miss Dusk, please will you allow me to protect you and dear little Dawn. I might not have a land just yet, but I don't want you two to wander alone and I can help you with protecting Dawn." He said softly as he looked over to Dawn and then right back over to Dusk with thorns perked upon his skull as he waited nervously to hear what she might say.

The mare listened to him as he spoke his tale and what a horrid tale it was, no one should have ever been wrapped in such a contraption. She snorted and shook her skull as he finished his sad tale and then once more spoke to her and she smiled and looked to Dawn, she could use the help and this stallion had seemed to charm her so much she couldn’t bear to be without him. “My dear Jolin I will allow you to protect me and my daughter I don’t think I could bear to be away from you for you have seemed to charm me so.” With those words she smiled and heard a joyful squeal from her daughter who had trotted over to them and was no prancing around them and then stopped with a yawn before lowering her frame and stretching out as she closed her eyes. “Well someone has had a little too much fun today.” Dusk laughed and looked to Jolin waiting.

Jolin did not mean to go back to the graphic thing that had haunted his past life. Taking in a deep breath of air as he tried to keep his mind at ease. To go and remember the past anymore at this point. He had other things on his mind that he wished to worry about and yet no words had come from this beauties muzzle just yet. Allowing his breaths to ease more as he looked around and then turned and looked over towards Dusk for a moment and as soon as he was about to turn his gaze from her, Dusk had begun to speak towards him again. Turning his skull and looking over towards her while she spoke.

He was given the words that told him that he was allowed to protect them and all Jolin could do was smile while taking in the words of this femme figure. He grinned as he wanted to trot forwards and hug this mare but could not do such a thing right now. Though his eyes did turn over towards little Dawn as he took in her squeal of happiness. Smiling as he watched her come over towards them in a joyful trot. Seeing the sight of her tired self giving off a yawn before she had found her figure now upon the ground and slowly closing her orbs. His muzzle not allowing the smile upon his face to not leave as he listened to Dusk speak while he looked over Dawn's small figure.

Then his eyes turned up towards Dusk with a soft smile there upon his muzzle as he looked over her. "I thank you for letting me do this. Not trying to be that much of a charmer." He said with a snicker as he looked down towards Dawn with a soft look in his eyes. "I guess I just miss having some kind of family around and playing with the little ones, like Dawn." He said as he looked over her sleeping figure before letting his eyes travel up towards her. "Why don't you get some rest, Miss Dusk. I know you might need it. I'll look after Dawn if she wakes before you." He said with a soft smile upon his muzzle this time and not a full out grin.

Dusk nodded as she listened to the brute, going to curl up with her daughter. She really could use some rest, she couldn’t remember the last time she had gotten any decent sleep because her daughter was always on the go. She looked to Jolin, “Thank you for everything Jolin it means a lot to me.” She spoke quietly lowering her crown and closing her eyes, finally enjoying the sleep that was coming over her. Dawn opened her eyes sleeply and looked around the lands and her eyes landed on Jolin knowing they were protected and with that she went back to sleep.
