; general

• Swearing is allowed, but please do not over do it. pg-13
  
  
• Talking racist, sexist or anything else like that is also unacceptable. (See warnings)
  
  
• You may create as many characters as you like, as long as you can keep all of them active.
  
  
• You DO NOT have to wait to be accepted,
  the locking of the threads is simply for staff convenience and organization.
  (this helps keeps things organized. follow the rules in the character profiles)
  
  
• Common names from the past are reusable, but names of "famous" past horses may not be reused. If we see a problem with a name we will let you know.
  
  
• We recommend making an "introduction" post on the Introduction subboard of the Water Cooler board, there are plenty of examples there. But this, of course, isn't required - just a recommendation on a way to get involved and meet other RPers here
  
  
• Seasons are two weeks long and change on Saturdays.
  
  
• Word Count: Every post must have at least 100 words in it. It really isn't that hard of a task so we expect everyone to follow it. If you would like a response to one of your long well thought out posts to be longer, state a word count in the OOC section of your post.
  

• Please though, put effort into your posts. The more you post, the more a person generally has to respond to.

[/li][li] If you have territory updates, don't PM the staff, go to the contact the staff board and reply to the Terra updates thread.

[/li][li]Character Logs now are one thread per roleplayer. EX: instead of having a thread for bob and a thread for jane, theres now one thread, with your name as the title with Bob in the first post and a reply with Jane.

[/li][li] Advertising over PM's (private messages) or the C-Box is unacceptable. There is an advertising board for a reason, so please refer to that board and not PM's. If we find out you have been doing so, please refer to the Warning's list. Also, if someone does PM you about a site, Please tell one of the staff.

[/li][li]Staff members will be watching out for newcomers with potential for rping and referring them to a studio, but dont wait for us to do so, go there yourself!

[/li][li]Warnings All warnings are deleted at the start of every new year, unless the warning were issued days before the new year, and in that case we will notify you when the warnings will be withdrawn.[/li][/ul]

1st Offence = Warning
3 Warnings = Banned for a week

-Sending Hate Mail (must be proven)
1st Offence = Warning
2 Warnings = Banned for a week.

-Cursing at someone in OOC
1st Offence = Warning
2 Warnings = Banned for a week

-Being Racist/Sexist
1st Offence = Banned for a week
2nd Offence = Banned permenantly

-Fighting in OOC in General.
1st Offense = Warning
3 Warnings = Banned for a week.

-Advertising over PM's or C-Box
1st Offence = Verbal Warning
2nd Offense = Warning
3 Warnings = Banned for a week

-Threats to kill/harm someone in anyway in real life
Permenantly banned - No warnings

Also, at anytime we, the staff, are allowed to modify the rules if we feel the consequence is not big enough.



; claiming mares & territories

• you cannot force a mare into your herd, mares have their rights.
  
  
• Stallions may claim as many mares as they want
  
  
• You are not allowed to claim a mare played by yourself.
  (be warned, we can see if you are the same person by checking IP)
  
  
• You must have two mares to claim a terra.
  
  
• Mares may not claim territories.
  (unless dealing with a plot or authorized)
  
  
• You must inform a stallion in a post, in character, not ooc or in a pm, IN CHARACTER, if you are leaving him.

; fighting

• Challenges for Terras must take place in the terra that is being challenged for.
  
  
• Once a fight is complete, use the form on the “Fight Notification Board” in the contact the staff area, and it will be judged as soon as possible.
  
  
• You may not powerplay, or play god. (ex: i kicked him in the barrel and broke his ribs.)
  
  
• Fights will not be judged by polls - a staff member will judge it, and if it's a difficult to judge fight or the two rp'ers don't think the judging was fair, we will discuss it in the staff room.
  
  
• Only stallions can challenge for terras, mares may not. (again unless approved by staff for a plot)
  
  
• To challenge for a terra you must have 2 or more active mares. Post in the terra that you're challenging to let the current king know. The current king must have also had it for a month.
  
  
• If the challenged king does not reply to your challenge within one week, you automatically win the challenge by default (unless the king is posted in absent)
  
  
• Once you challenge, if you lose, you must wait a minimum of 1 year GF time (2 months real time) to challenge for the same terra again, and half of a year GF time (1 month real time) to challenge for a different terra.
  
  
• 5 posts for each player. one attack per post. only one dodge per horse.
  
  
• If you challenge for a mare and win, the mare must stay with you for a year to give you a chance, then she may or may not return to her former stallion.
  
  
• No double teaming. (no bringing in another stallion to assist you in the fight. it's the challenger and the defender.)
  
  
• We do have other terras (currently invisible to users) and will be made visible once there is a need for them (more active members)
  
  
• 2 terras per RPer, multiple accounts or not, we will know. if you break this rule you will be banned for a week.
  
  
• Fighting is good, the Fighting Grounds is a place where colts and stallions can mock fight, real fight, play fight, practice, etc. for fighting. The more fights a stallion has won, the more likely he is to win in the future. Plus what mare doesn't go for a stallion who can defend her?
  

; foaling & breeding

• No force-breeding unless the mare's RPer agrees to it and it is OKed by a staff member, i don't want mares going in and just being randomly bred (which means you must have a stallion BEFORE you go into the breeding grounds)
  
  
• The sire of the foal must be from this game, you may not come here pregnant, but you may bring a mare who already has a foal.
  
  
• I understand not everyone wanting to go to deep into breeding, but both the mare AND the stallion must post saying they bred, or a phrase close to that.
  
  
• Go to the breeding grounds to mate - do not be long or graphic please.
  
  
• Breed ONLY in the Breeding Grounds (can discuss in home terra)
  Breeding ONLY in Spring and Fall
  Foaling ONLY in Summer and Winter.
  
  - After you post in the breeding grounds, mother nature will reply with either conceived or not conceived. If your mare did not conceive, she must wait until the next breeding season to try again.
  
  -Post the stats of mare and stallion in the foaling grounds only during the foaling season.
  
  
• Foal Stats:
  - The admin's will decide foals stats. remember, colts are not given as often as fillies. but, please, if your stallion is dying and needs an heir, message us.
  
  - Mother nature can give a stillborn or defects to a foal. They are not common. (More common in mares older than 15 and when foaling in the winter)
  
  - You may kill the foal or give it to someone else to RP 1 year. (8 weeks.)
  
  - Mares have to wait a full year before getting pregnant again. So if she births summer of year 02, she has to wait until fall of 03 to breed again, not fall of 02.
  
  - Please refer to the breeding + foaling grounds rules before breeding and giving birth.
